Not even on Forbes Top 20 list last year of top paid celebrities, the Queen Monster should have pocketed even more this year if not for the hip injury which shortened her Born This Way Ball Concert Tour. The concert tour brought in over $160 million starting January this year. If Lady Gaga was able to conclude the rest of the tour, could have earned more than $200 million. On her way to finishing another album, she may be on this list for years to come.

9. Jerry Bruckheimer with $80 million

Last year, Jerry Bruckheimer was fourth on the same list. With his blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides he earned over $1 billion at the world box office. The year before that did not do well for the great director The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Prince of Persia not being able to cash in as expected. This year, producer Bruckheimer has made it to the Top 9 with proceeds from his Pirates of the Caribbean franchise reaching $3.7 billion gross in worldwide sales.

8. Michael Bay with $82 million

He was number 2 last year’s highest paid actors, and he is still in the top ten at number 8 this year. No small thanks to the 3-D version of the movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Bay was able to bring in $1.1 billion. He also generates a huge chunk of his earnings from Transformer toys. And aside from that, he has a Transformers inspired ride at Universal Studios. This year, he is responsible for the small budget Pain & Gain which is expected to bring in millions of dollars once again and another installment to the Transformers series.

7. Glenn Beck with $90 million

Not on Forbes’s top list last year, Beck has made tremendous strides on the Internet this year putting him on the top 7 this year. After he decided to leave Fox in two years ago, Beck discovered what actually ticks online and from there, managed to generate a lot of money via his website The Blaze. Members of the website would have to shell out $100 each year to be able to watch his online videos. This year alone, he made $90 million as one of the highest paid celebrities 2013.

6. James Patterson, Book Author, $91 million

At #8 last year, James Patterson is now at #6. Patterson’s income is on the rise and there is a reason behind that. Each year, he is able to write down more books. Two years ago, he published 14 books which include fantasy and sci-fi and thrillers with the young reader as its target market. He has a group of co-writers to help him complete his production. Tyler Perry will be acting in his latest ‘I, Alex Cross” adaptations that boosted his earnings, and made his way as one of the top paid celebrities this year.

5. Howard Stern with $95 million.

Howard Stern’s income is generated from Sirius where he maintains his own network. He earns approximately $15 million every year as a judge on America’s Got Talent on the side. He is currently working with a lawsuit against his former network. Indeed, he is one of the highest paid actors since he joined the bandwagon of judges of America’s Got Talent.

Ranking tenth last year, Simon Cowell is now at number 3. His yearly income is roughly £25,000,000. Cowell is a television producer, a British executive, and a capitalist. He has acted as judge in US and UK pop shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Pop Idol, The X Factor, and the very popular American Idol. He now has a value of $95 million, making him as a richest celebrity or one of the wealthiest actors in UK.

Steven Spielberg ups a notch from 3 last year to second place this year’s of highest paid celebrities 2013. With his DreamWorks studio making a bold move towards television shows. He has 4 new big shows which Smash and Terra Nova. Plus, the amazing movie producer went back into directing with massive hits such as War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin. These two movies garnered Oscar nominations. His other blockbusters such as Jurassic Park and ET are continuously being played in some parts of the world and he earns royalties for those.  The movie Lincoln earned him $275 million from a small budget of $65 million.

Although her latest album was a flop, Madonna’s Material Girl tour had catapulted her into the top of the list of celebrities who made massive earnings this year. Fans paid as much as $100 per ticket to listen to Madonna sing her old hits such as Lucky Star, Vogue, Like A Virgin, Material Girl, and Holiday. The concert tour topped $305 million and the artist was awarded by the Billboard Music Awards with the Top Touring Award. She also promotes a clothing line, and some investments such is Vita Coco. She is indeed the highest paid celebrity this year because of successful concerts that she had.
