Honesty is one of the most forgotten attributes today. In fact, the absence of it has resulted division, corruption, hate, heartaches, and even misery. It is present in every group, society, association, school, work, and even in government offices. Needless to say, there are still people and places that we can go to that still uphold and maintain in the realms of integrity. Hence, with the rising generation, it is alarming that they can bluntly deny something and reject truth. This has robbed justice, and it could rob someone’s future. The moment you start questioning his or her statements without even the intention of interrogating him or her, you would see a negative reaction from him or her. In most situation, they would get angry on whatever you say, wherein they would insinuate that you are wrong and they are right. That’s the best defense mechanism that they can serve against you.

Without focusing on the liar’s tongue and be a keen observant, notice how he or she keeps his or her hands. It keeps on moving and it does not stay where they have to stay. The same goes with ankles, knees, and elbows. Observe how one tugs his or her clothes or how he or she plays with his or her hair. They are in crossed legs, their back are hunched and at times shrinking.

Because of the long story that the liar is giving which is common to all lying patterns, the moment you switch or ask for a certain matter about another angle of the story, they would automatically ignore what you have said, and would just go back to what he or she is telling you about. They avoid to discuss further information about the certain aspect of the story because they try to avoid giving you a hint that those things did not happen at all and were all just fabrication.

If you will observe closely on what someone is saying especially the way he or she moves you would notice that there’s unexplained change. If it’s first time for the person to lie you will see that he or she is uneasy. He or she is restless and irritated if a certain issue is being discussed, asked and brought up. That person becomes critical of you and not just on what the issue is all about.
6. Giving Too Much Details

A story is simple to follow and you will understand exactly where it is heading. You would know facts if it’s given or uttered in a straight forward manner. It’s more like or sounds like a person has memorized the order of the story and you tend to bend it by asking question or series of questions, he or she would still go back to where he stopped and would continue the story that he or she has concocted long before you talk to him or her.
5. Vocal Tension

If you know the person very well, you spot easily the difference of the normal tone voice of that person if he or she is talking in his or usual ways. Hence, if there’s a sudden clearing of throat while talking to him or her. If that person is used to lie he or she would be used to “normal ahem” than the one who is telling the truth. Vocal tension happens if the person is stressed because he or she knows that what she’s saying is not true because he or she thinks about it too much, the voice receives the tension that reflects on the sudden change of the voice tone. There’s an associated anxiety if one is lying, there’s a lack of air that results to creaky voice tone. A relax voice is what you normally find to an honest person.

It is common knowledge for everyone that when someone does not look through your eyes or make an eye contact, we normally think that he or she lies at you. In fact, it is exactly the opposite. The more the person does an eye contact with you, signifies that he or she is lying. In fact, at times they look more sincere because they intentionally look to your eyes to show that they are honest. This implies that it has been practiced long before that person faces you. It is true that there’s uncomfortable feeling on their part, but if that has been done a couple of times, it becomes part of that person, and it appears normal and natural to them.

When a person is stress which is one of the indication that he or she has plans not tell any truth, he or she would feel an itch on the nose which happens because of the adrenalin rush that runs down to the nose capillaries that results to itchiness. It does not mean that his or her nose will grow when he or she tells a lie, but unconsciously and constantly rubbing your nose is a sign. This goes when one covers his or her mouth or eyes who are untruthful of what he or she is being said.

A person who is truthful would only have one facial expression going or looking at one direction. Hence, contrary to the person who is about to tell lie or telling lies would show distress expression of emotion like how his or her eyebrows move that create short lines across on the forehead. Gestures and expressions should always match on what the person is saying like if the person is confirming something, but then he or she is doing a side to side shake or staring at the ground, it’s a clear evidence of lie or deceit.

There are two ways to know if the person is lying if the person is left-handed or right-handed. For the right-handed if one wants to remember details their eyes move up and to the left. However, if he or she is lying their eyes move up, but not going to the left, but going on the right direction. The same observation applies to left-handed people as to the eyes movement when telling the truth, but in a reverse manner. In addition, more eye blinking or eye fluttering is another sign that the person is not comfortable or tense that includes rubbing of eyes which is common to people who lie or who concoct stories.
