Just recently it was announced that Cinnamon Toast Crunch would be coming back to the stores and you will be able to buy it again soon. General Mills launched the cereal in 1995 but then pulled it back in 2006. Everyone missed it, including myself. I loved having a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. After hearing this, it made me start thinking about some of the other discontinued cereals that I use to enjoy. If you see Cinnamon Toast Crunch out, grab it and try it if you like cinnamon then you are bound to like that cereal.
Check out these 10 Retro Cereals That We Miss Today
10. Strawberry Shortcake Cereal
The Strawberry Shortcake cereal was introduced back in 1982 and loved by all fans of Strawberry Shortcake. In the 80’s Strawberry Shortcake was famous and you could find her on greeting cards, lunch boxes, comic books and of course stickers. She even starred in a movie back in 2006 called Strawberry Shortcake The Sweet Dreams Movie. A lot of fans, including myself missed the cereal after they decided to discontinue it.

9. Nerds Cereal
This was another famous cereal in the 80’s and was introduced in 1986. The Nerds cereal had two different flavors with it just like the candy. The most popular flavor was strawberry and grape. They also had orange and cherry nerd’s cereal. What also made the nerds cereal so awesome was that you could collect a nerd’s pin when you purchased the cereals. The good news is that while the cereal is discontinued, you can at least still buy the nerds candy today even though it does not really make up for the cereal.

8. S’mores Crunch
S’mores Crunch was sadly long lived. General Mills launched this cereal in 1982 but then it was just out for one year and discontinued it back in 1988. They tried to resume the S’mores Crunch production again in the 1990’s but then also discontinued that one. I don’t’ know why the S’mores Crunch never stayed on the shelves for a very long time. I enjoyed eating bite sized marshmallows with crispy graham cereal and loved the way it made the milk taste.
7. Ice Cream Cones Cereal
You seriously missed out on a good treat if you didn’t have the Ice Cream Cones Cereal when it was released in 1987. You could grab a box of chocolate chip ice creamed flavor cereal or opt in for just plain chocolate and vanilla. In 2003 they tried to reintroduce the cereal but they pulled it from the shelves shortly after it was reintroduced.
6. Double Dip Crunch
Double Dip Crunch lasted on the shelves longer then some of the other discontinued cereals. Kellogg’s introduced this cereal back in the late 1980’s and it managed to stay on the shelf up to around 1993. I loved this cereal. It was dipped in honey and then also dipped in nuts. Sometimes I would sprinkle cinnamon on top and drizzled even more honey on it and it tasted great. I hope that they bring it back.
5. Kaboom Cereal
I never had a chance to try the Kaboom cereal but my mom said she liked it a lot. It was introduced back in 1969 by General Mills. It was a cereal that had a circus theme too it and mom said that the cereal bits were shaped clowns that smiled and the marshmallows were lions, stars, bears and elephants shaped. It was available in the stores again around the 1980’s and then it was there up until around 2010 but I don’t remember seeing it around that time.
4. Rocky Road Cereal
I loved the Rocky Road cereal but maybe because I am such a big fan of Rocky Road ice cream. I think I mainly loved this cereal a lot because of the marshmallows being completely chocolate covered and it making the milk like chocolate. Sometimes I still put marshmallows in my cereal today because the Rocky Road cereal made me just fall in love with having them in my cereal.
3. Teddy Grahams Breakfast Bears
Teddy Grahams Breakfast Bears Cereal was one of my all time favorite cereals as a kid. It was introduced by Nabisco back in 1990. There was a variety of flavors that you could choose from being chocolate, cinnamon and honey. My favorite flavor was the chocolate of course. They were tiny bear shapes that you could eat. However, sometimes I did like to buy all of them and mix the cereals together as a special treat.
2. Fruity Marshmallow Krispies
I am surprised that they pulled Fruity Marshmallow Krispies. It was a popular cereal in the 80’s. It was Rice Krispies but had marshmallows in the shape of fruits. I do remember having them as a kid and loved them. I wish that they would consider bringing these back. A lot of people were actually upset when they stopped making these, so that’s why I’ll never understand as to why they decided to stop making them.
1. Berry Berry Kix
Berry Berry Kix was extremely popular in the 90’s and I had this cereal often and was shocked when they stopped making it. A lot of Berry Berry Kix fans are trying to unite together and see if they can bring this cereal back on the shelves again. It was so popular and there was really no reason as to why they had to discontinue it. They have other similar products available but the Berry Berry Kix cereal is the cereal that people fell in love with and miss it today.
Conclusion
There are many other cereals that we miss that I did not cover such as Quaker Halfsies, Super Golden Crisp cereal, Strawberry Honeycombs, Breakfast with Barbie Cereal, GI Joe Cereal, Powered Donutz Cereal, Dunkin Donuts cereal and the Morning Funnies cereal. It just goes to show, you never know when your favorite cereal might be discontinued. One week you could be loving it and then the next week, it might be gone forever so enjoy whatever cereal you’re having right now with this in mind. Makes you treasure that cereal even more now doesn’t it?
